The Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) is a former NSDAP Representationsbuilding on a spur of the mountain Kehlsporn, built between 1937 and 1938.
With the construction of the building, the head of the Party Chancellery, Martin Bormann and the Architeckt Roderich Fick was commissioned. After 13 months of construction, the building was completed in the summer of 1938, and was presented Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday.
During his remaining reign Adolf Hitler visited the building only about a dozen times. He declared the building not as safe enough for his purposes.

Today, the Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) is a popular destination. The fact-based restaurant offers visitors a splendid view of the Berchtesgaden Alps. Also found inside some exhibits from the Nazi period.
