Allwetterzoo Münster

The Zoo’s name based on the "all-weather paths". These roofed paths connect the large animal houses and are approximately 1 km large. In the Zoo the visitor will find about 2700 animals from all continents, the Dolphinarium and the Horse Museum without extra admission fee. Extraordinary animal experiences like elephant and parrot feeding by the visitors or the penguin walk make a visit an unforgettable event. Families with children get pleasure from five attractive playgrounds, many idyllically sited picnic spots and the childrens’ zoo integrated in our “Children and Horse Park”. Fascinating to see, the “Affricaneum” with its close to nature generously proportioned plant for the gorillas with their offspring and the chimpanzees. Unique in the world of zoos is the walkable plant for monkeys where the visitors can experience the colobus monkeys at close range. Through the jungle in our “ZoORANGerie” orangutan ‘Ito’ is blustering with his fellows. Both the agile meerkat and the heavy-weighted rhinos got new gorgeous exterior plants beside each other. Now the visitors can have a look at the meerkat behaviour while they are sleeping, playing and digging as close as possible as well as experience the rhinos on a roofed observation deck. The Zoo opened daily at 9 a.m.
